Pierpaolo, the owner of Masseria Pilano, had a vision of harmony between architecture and nature. This vision turned into reality with the renovation of the ancient drystone huts that make up the core of this place. Today, families, couples, and small groups stay in these well-furnished huts to experience the richness of the region.
Located 340 meters above sea level, Masseria Pilano is nestled around farmland, olive groves, and forests. Halfway between the Ionic and Adriatic sea, the location is perfect for visiting countless picturesque corners such as the heritage site of Alberobello, the towns of Ostuni and Matera, and the lush green gorge of Laterza.
The main activity of the farmhouse is cattle-breeding and olive oil production. Guests who wish to do so can help out, or, alternatively, they can just treat themselves to delicious zero-mile food. Day-trips to the nearby towns for art, music, food and festivals are also recommended.
